Pakistani celebrities from every fields of life have proven themselves by their talent and hardworking. From showbiz to sports, literature to music our celebrities have shown their superiority to all the nations of the world. Though we separated along time ago from India but most of our traditions and culture are same because we have a rich history background comprising hundreds of years spending together. Our artists and celebrities tried hard to create a friendly atmosphere among both nation but they always feel jealousy and show it openly at many occasions.
Adnan Sami Khan is great singer of Pakistan offering his services to Indian Film Industry for many years. Many super hit films music is on his credit, even though Indians did not leave any chance to trouble him. These lines of some news paper confirmed their hate against Pakistan.
“The India-based Pakistani singer is not allowed to leave the country. On Thursday, June 2, the Mumbai sessions court rejected his plea to travel overseas for one-and-a-half months to perform. The restriction comes in connection with a case of domestic violence filed by Khan’s ex-wife Sabah Galadari, reported Hindustan Times.”
In December last year eight flats and parking spaces owned by singer Adnan Sami were confiscated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) as the singer is not allowed to acquire property in India.
Here’s a look at a few other instances were the Indo-Pak cultural ties have made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Like Pakistani singers many comedians are a regular feature in Bollywood and on Indian television, their appearances haven’t been free from controversy. In 2009 well-known Pakistani comedian Shakeel Siddiqui who was a part of ‘Comedy Circus’ on an Indian entertainment channel, was threatened by the MNS and asked to return to Pakistan.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is another Pakistani artist who have been embroiled in a controversy with the Indian authorities. The singer who has voiced some of Bollywood’s biggest chartbusters finds his name added to the list of controversial artistes from across the border.
It is not only political groups of India those oppose Pakistani artists performing in India. Popular Bollywood singer Abhijeet and Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh too have been vocal about the reception given to Pakistani singers in India.
Anita Ayub is another controversial character who was blamed to be Pakistani spy and was involved in Bombay blast. Even spending a long and successful career she was forcefully sent out by the orthodox shiv sena.
More recently Veena Malik and Nawazish Ali have to meet the protest from many groups of Indians being housemates in Big Boss.
Veena has been surrounded by several scandals and controversies, throughout her career, but the one she put herself in recently, is likely to have dangerously serious consequences for her at least. She is currently in an airbrushing row after appearing on the Indian FHM cover, adorning only a tattoo that reads, ‘ISI’. But, Malik claims that FHM airbrushed out the thong that she was wearing, and that it was not a nude photo-shoot. She has been stating that it was a bikini shoot that she agreed to, however, they removed her bikini during the shoot, but she kept her thong on. She also claims that t was not even a topless shoot because her assets were covered by her arms.
