Veteran Bollywood actress and Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan has said in a recent interview that she would happily live in Pakistan as people in India keep accusing her of not being loyal to her home country. In an interview to NavBharatTimes, Soni spoke about the conflict in Kashmir and said the place has run out of cultural balance. She further said that she is strictly against India becoming a Hindu nation.
She mentioned that people call her anti-national if she talks about issues related to Kashmir and Pakistan. She stated that her statements make people think of her as ‘deshdrohi [traitor]’ and they tell her to go to Pakistan. Soni added that she should take that advice and go since people keep pestering her. “When I talk like this, people start calling me anti-national and want to send me to Pakistan. Sometimes I wonder, I should really go to Pakistan as I’ll be much happier there. As it is the food is also good that side. Here, people are after me and want to make me run away. However, there are so many people who share the same thoughts as me, and thus, it hardly makes any difference to me what people have to say about me,” she said.
Soni will be seen in an upcoming film ‘No Father in Kashmir’. After facing a lot of controversy from Indian censor board, the movie will now hit theatres in India over this weekend.
